Why Go?

The nation is fortunate to have many spectacular national parks and game reserves. There are four circuits that uniquely divide the country. Numerous National Parks on the country's Northern Circuit are truly a blessing as they are teeming with wild untamed animals. Eighty percent of all safari travelers to Tanzania reserve itineraries through the northern circuit national parks.

World-renowned parks including the Serengeti, Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and others are available for exploration in the northern circuit locations. African Big Five and other more untamed species can be seen frequently in Tanzania's northern circuit national parks. Most of the numerous endangered species of wildlife can be found in the northern circuit stops. Species such as elephants, rhinos, African wild dogs, and many more.

Additionally, the Southern and Western Circuits will have some well-known locations and far-flung sites. In remote locations along the Southern Circuit, you can explore Ruaha National Park. Ruaha is the biggest park in the nation and has one of the greatest lion populations. In addition, there are other national parks in the southern circuit that are worth seeing, including the Kitulo National Park, the Selous Game Reserve, Mikumi National Park, and the Udzungwa National Park.

Gombe Stream National Park on the Western Circuit is also a fantastic location for chimpanzee tracking and getting up and close with primate life. While the Northern Circuit offers fantastic wildlife watching all year long.

When to Go?

As you can tell, Tanzania is an all-year-round destination, due to its variations in a large number of geographic locations. However, being a popular safari destination means that the best time to visit is during the dry seasons. Visit between June to October to catch the dry season, perfect for wildlife viewing as many incredible animals surround waterholes.

Where to Go?

Climb the tallest mountain in Africa. Mount Kilimanjaro stands 5,895 meters tall and is the world's tallest free-standing mountain. It takes roughly 5 or more days to get to its highest peak, with a large variation in ascent paths each with its own level of difficulty.

Visit the beautiful Lake Tanganyika, this incredible lake is the world's longest freshwater lake, enclosed by the rocky cliffs of the Great Rift Valley. The lake is one of the richest habitats in the world, due in part to the surrounding mountains and national parks, namely the Mahale mountains and the Gombe Stream National Park. You can enjoy amazing chimpanzee trekking and exceptional safari experiences in this region.

For a paradise escape, visit the stunning Zanzibar. This Island is located off the shore of Tanzania and is surrounded by the blue waters of the Indian Ocean. It has an Arabic influence with stunning resorts and amazing boat trips, making it perfect for a honeymoon or romantic escape. The amazing coral reefs that surround it offer one of the most incredible marine safaris in Africa viewing animals such as the whale shark and many other marine species.
