Our
staff members are the success of our business. Coming from a
previously disadvantaged background, we believe in uplifting our
staff members through on-going training in the industry, in order to
advance our employees and their families and thereby benefitting our
company.
Our Story
Kabura Travel & Tours started with one tour guide/driver in
2008, but the company was officially started in 2012 when Kabura
Travel & Tours became a proper Tour Operator. The company had
its first office in the owner's home of Assumani and Remondy Kabura
with Assumani as the Tour Guide/Driver and Remondy as the Travel
Consultant. Both came with years of experience in the Travel Sector
to develop what is today one of the Top 10 Tour Operators in Cape
Town. Through diligence and strive, Kabura Travel grew from strength
to strength and though sometimes it was hard, Kabura Travel now has
an official office with a compliment of 5 experienced Travel
Consultants and 15 permanent Tour Guides/Drivers. In season, this
staff compliment grows according to the workload with the aid of
Freelancers.
Kabura Travel & Tours has become an officially Accredited Tour
Operator DMC with Transport and believes in providing impeccable
service to its client. Our reviews on TripAdvisor speak volumes for
our reputation as one of Top-Rated Tour Operators in South Africa.
Our Community Upliftment
Since 2012, Kabura Travel has contributed to the growth, not only for the benefit of the company but also for the benefit of the economy through job creation opportunities in the community. Both Assumani and Remondy Kabura come from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and grew up in the townships. Kabura Travel, therefore, feels that it is imperative that they contribute to the upliftment and empowerment of previously disadvantaged individuals and strive to extend its hand of knowledge and opportunities as far as possible in the community.
Our Commitment to Protect Our Environment
Kabura Travel & Tours believe in Sustainable Tourism and through our membership with Satsa, which is one of the largest Tourism Boards in South Africa, we are constantly informed and therefore strive to provide Sustainable Tourism. Satsa provides ongoing guidance to local tour operators on how to continue sustainable tourism and in this way we all contribute to the conservation of our tourist attractions. Kabura Travel & Tours have removed all animal interactions from our tours and we have helped plant trees in various areas in South Africa which we were told will save our planet.
Through our experience and knowledge of ways and means to grow Kabura Travel & Tours into what it is today, we are constantly extending our time and hand of knowledge to empower local Tour Guides who desire to grow into Tour Operators. We believe that the future is in the digital market, and what better way than to take what we have learned over the years and share this with these Guides. Every 6 months, Kabura takes a local Tour Guide under its wings and offers our time and effort into helping them to register their own businesses and develop their own online website. We show them how to develop their own keywords for search engine optimization and introduce them to Online Travel Agents.
